  • Day1

     Arrival in McLeodganj

    Upon arriving in McLeodganj, head to the guest house or public restrooms to freshen up before beginning your Minkiani Pass Trek. From there, make your way to Kareri village via an easy trail that winds through dense pine forests. Take a break to have your packed lunch and relax before continuing on the approximately 5-hour long walk, passing by small villages along the way where you can observe and learn about local life. Upon reaching the campsite, enjoy a hearty dinner before settling in for an overnight stay in the camps in Kareri Village.

  • Day2

    Kareri Village to Kareri Lake

    After an early morning breakfast, it's time to move from Kareri Village to Kareri Lake. The journey starts with a narrow path between lush mountains and a narrow gorge, where you will come across diverse flora of the region. As you continue to gain height, the thick vegetation will become less dense, and the trail will become rocky and along a river. Eventually, all the deciduous vegetation will disappear, leaving only firs and spruces visible. Take a break to enjoy a packed lunch and prepare for a nice picnic, reminiscing about past memories and engaging in healthy fun conversations.

    The 4-hour trek will lead you to a beautiful meadow, where you will be able to see Baleni Pass, Minkiani Pass, and a valley below. Settle in at the campsite, where you will have a delicious dinner and spend the night camping.

  • Day3

     Kareri Lake – Minkiani Pass – Kareri Lake

    It's important to have a healthy and hearty breakfast before embarking on the toughest section of the Minkiani Pass Trek in McLeodganj. This section will take you to the summit of Minkiani Pass, which sits at an altitude of around 14,000 feet. The trek to reach the pass is approximately 4.5 km, and you'll need to cover the same distance while coming back. However, the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains from the top will make it all worth it.

    After reaching the summit, take some time to enjoy the stunning vistas and take photos to capture the moment. Later, trek back to the campsite near Kareri Lake, where you'll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night.

    Kareri Lake to Kareri Village to McLeodganj

    Embark on your trek from Kareri Lake and follow the trail alongside a lively river. Descend to a lower altitude, where you will witness the return of dense vegetation and tall trees of deodar and pine. Upon reaching Kareri village, hop on a Jeep and travel to McLeodganj, marking the end of your Minkiani Pass and Kareri Lake Trek.

    Kareri Lake to Kareri Village to McLeodganj

    Embark on your trek from Kareri Lake, following the path along a lively river. As you descend to lower altitudes, the dense vegetation will reappear, and you will encounter towering deodar and pine trees. Upon reaching Kareri village, hop on a Jeep and drive to McLeodganj, where your exhilarating Minkiani Pass and Kareri Lake Trek comes to a close.
