Our Exciting Journey to Dyalisera Bugyal Trek
We planned an exciting trip to Dyalisera Bugyal Trek from Delhi, deciding to leave within 2-3 days. All 10 of us, childhood school friends, were eager to relive the joy of being together again, just like our school picnics.
For a comfortable journey, we hired a tempo traveler from Sunil Ji, a reliable and economical transporter. He charged us ₹32,000 for a 4-day round trip (Delhi-Delhi). The traveler was spacious and comfortable, perfect for our group. Since we all live in West Delhi, we decided Janakpuri would be our pickup and drop-off point.
Day 1: Journey from Delhi to Joshimath
Our journey started at 6 AM from Delhi with our driver, Harish Ji, who was familiar with the routes. For tea break, he suggested Shiva Dhaba. We enjoyed hot tea and buns, while Harish relished a paratha. Re-energized, we continued our journey, excited for the Dyalishera Bugyal Trek.
Around noon, we were quite hungry and decided to stop for brunch at Balaji Restaurant in Haridwar, as recommended by Naveen. The restaurant, near the Ganga River, offered delicious food and a serene view. It was clean, welcoming, and perfect for a short break.
By evening, we reached our homestay in Joshimath. The warm welcome from the hosts, along with homemade tea and snacks, immediately made us feel at home. The peaceful village atmosphere, chirping birds, and refreshing mountain air were a delightful change from Delhi's hustle and bustle.
Our rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated in traditional Pahadi style. After resting for a while, we had a delicious dinner prepared by the host’s wife, dressed in traditional Pahadi attire. The meal included local dishes like two types of vegetable curries, pulses, rice, chapati, and a unique local pickle. We also enjoyed Buransh juice (made from local flowers) and packed a few bottles to take home.
After dinner, we went for a short night walk around the village, soaking in the tranquillity. Exhausted yet happy, we fell asleep quickly, ready for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Joshimath/Karchhon to Dobriya Camp (6 km Trek)
We started our trek from Karchhon to Dobriya Camp, a scenic 6 km route offering breathtaking views:
Panoramic mountain views river, meadow, unique flora/fauna visible on the way.
Upon reaching Dobriya Camp, we set up tents and enjoyed a simple yet hearty meal under the starlit sky.
Day 3: Dobriya Camp to Dyalisera Summit (8 km Trek Each Way)
The trek to the Dyalisera summit was a thrilling 8 km each way. The summit rewarded us with stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains and lush meadows. We spent the night camping at Dyalisera, sharing stories and enjoying the serene surroundings.
Day 4: Dyalisera to Karchhon/Joshimath (8-10 km Trek)
We trekked back from Dyalishera to Joshimath via Karchhon, cherishing the beautiful landscapes and peaceful environment one last time.
Day 5: Drive Back to Delhi via Haridwar (270 km)
After an early morning tea, we began our return journey to Delhi, stopping briefly in Haridwar. We reached Delhi by 6 PM, marking the end of a memorable trip.
