The ridge's elevation ranges between 2,810 and 287 m. It's a single-day hike approximately. 10km (one way) from the Mcleod Ganj bus stand and less than 6 km (one direction) of Galu temple in Dharamkot. The path is rough and has steps cut into it in some spots. From the Galu devi temple, there is a straight-forward byway that runs through a stunning woodland of deodar and oak trees. This forest stretch is known as the 22 Curves due to the 22 switchbacks that one has to cross to get to Triund. Triund Weather
Connectivity and transportation
The transport by road in the nearby area is Pathankot to Gaggal before heading to Dharamsala as well as New Delhi to the Chandigarh and then on to Kangra and then finally Dharamsala.
The closest stations for railways on the narrow gauge Shimla-Kangra line are in Jassur (Nurpur, Kangra, and Himachal Pradesh) and Paror railway station close to Nagrota (about 20 kilometers to the to the south of Dharamsala). The nearest rail head on broad gauge is located at Pathankot (about 85 kilometers).
Gaggal Airport (which can also be called Kangra Airport) to Gaggal market and then turn left to Dharamsala there is no need to travel to Kangra. Triund Weather
Triund Campsite
Triund Campsite is a base camp and an acclimatization point for trekkers who are climbing the Inderahara point on the Mt. Dhauladhar. The night sky view from Triund is an excellent incentive to put up your tent there to sleep. The long distance is ideal to spend a weekend here.
Climate
Triund is closed during the months of January and February due to the heavy snowfall. The best time to go trek is between March and May in the beginning of the year and from September until month of December in the second half during the latter half.
